Olivia Rodrigo. she’s a great composer, but not a great lyricist. given that her idol is Taylor Swift, a lyrical genius, she could do much better depending on the music she listens to often.

Don’t come to me for this one. I like his music sometimes but only when I feel like listening to it. Olivia Rodrigo. Yeah, I know a lot of people like her but I feel like she’s super overrated and over hyped. Once again don’t come to me! I prefer old, relaxing songs, okay?
I can’t really choose one. A ton of them today use autotune and have stupid lyrics.
Enter Sandman, Freebird, Tears in Heaven, Hotel California, Imagine. If I never heard those songs again, that would be fine with me.

U2. Two good songs and that’s it.
Notorious BIG. Every beat, rhyme and instrument was sampled from a song from the 70s and 80s. Nothing original. The lyrics of the rap were dope so I’ll give it to him.
Bob Dylan. Excellent songwriter but lacks spice with the instrumentals.
Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, don’t chase me with pitchforks. We need more singers like Halsey and Melanie Martinez. Their songs are crazy, relatable and amazing to listen to.
I can’t even give an answer because all women sound the same so I don’t know who sings what. we need unique singers like Cher, Tina or Dolly. you recognized them the moment the first line was sung.

Any mainstream music. Classical music needs more recognition. For people who think classical music is boring, listen to Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8. It’s so exhilarating, especially the second movement.
