The official website and Twitter account of Sana Kirioka’s animated adaptation Fairy Tale Taisho Otome (Taisho Otome Otogi Banashi) The manga series has revealed its new promo video, theme song artist, and premiere date on October 9. The video provides a preview of the opening theme song of the anime “Otome no Kokoroe” (“A Girl’s Knowledge”) by GARNiDELiA. Funimation will stream the anime as it airs.

The anime’s staff includes Hatori Jun (Beyblade: Metal Fury) as director, Fukuda Hiroko (Hayate the Fighting Butler) as screenwriter, Watanabe Mayumi (Fairy tale) as a character designer, and Yasuharu Takanashi (Pretty Crystal of Sailor Moon Guardian) as a music composer. Shunichi Toki performs the ending theme song “Makokoro ni Sō”. Animation production will be by SynergySP.

The cast of the anime includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Shima Tamahiko, Saya Aizawa as Tachibana Yuzuki, Yume Miyamoto as Shima Tamako, Chika Anzai as Atsumi Ryo, Ayasa Itō as Shiratori Kotori, and Shunichi Toki as Shiratori Hikaru.

The Taisho Otome Otogi Banashi manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine from 2015 to 2017. Kirioka then published a sequel titled Showa Otome Otogi Banashi on the Shonen Jump + site. The fifth and final volume of the manga was released on July 3.

Pony Canyon’s YouTube channel posted the first promo video and describes the anime’s story as follows:

The setting is the Taisho era. Tamahiko, a young man who disappointed his parents after losing the use of his right hand in an accident, is forced to leave his home under the pretext of rehabilitation. Irritated with everything in life, he becomes withdrawn and pessimistic when one day a woman named Yuzuki knocks on his door. She claims that she was sent there by her father to be his wife …
