A variety of talented songwriters from Liverpool gather at the British Music Experience based in the Cunard building on the seafront.

Hosted by the See You Down The Front music podcast, the Absolute Acoustic event takes place on Thursday, October 7 and is led by Liverpool-based folk singer Calum Gilligan who won the Rising Stars Showcase Final at the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival .

Calum’s style is described as “a subtle blend of Celtic folk and American music”, his heartfelt lyrics pairing perfectly with his powerful voice and melodic guitar playing.

Motel Sundown performs at Absolute Acoustic.

Also on the program, Jenny Colquitt, known for her alternative folk, pop and American style, recently released two singles, “Dirty Town” and “Shape”, which feature on her debut album due out this year.

Liverpool-based three-piece group Motel Sundown will also take the stage to perform their music which is described as a mix of “Americana, Country and Folk Rock”.

Greg Oldfield of Widnes will close the evening with his songs that reflect local interest, including characters that feel familiar.

Tickets cost £ 10 and can be purchased at British Music Experience.
